Jasmyn Kersey

Ms. Jasmyn began training in dance at the age of four and since then the performing arts have been a core aspect of her life. Ms. Jasmyn has been trained in the BATD and RAD curricula and in all disciplines of dance including ballet, jazz, acro, tap, contemporary, musical theatre, lyrical and hip hop; however she specializes in acro, contemporary, lyrical and jazz. From a young age Ms. Jasmyn was an award winning dancer, travelling and competing across the USA and Canada. Throughout her dancing career she has won numerous overalls, including titles and top soloist at multiple competitions.

Ms. Jasmyn has over ten years of teaching and choreographing experience. She choreographed her first successful routine at the age of fourteen. Ms. Jasmyn has now established herself as a reputable director, instructor and choreographer having won many overalls and scholarships for herself and her students. From an early age Ms. Jasmyn aspired to provide a curriculum for the young artist that was holistic in nature – a curriculum that included training in dance, acting and vocals. This dream became a reality when at the young age of 19 she guided The Dance Scene’s first competitive team to winning overalls and special awards at each competition they attended. Ms. Jasmyn continues to develop strong technical dancers that shine in the field of dance with their additional skills and creativity. Aligning with the development of her students, Ms. Jasmyn believes that personal development is an essential process in order to always bring forth superior training, she works towards her certification as a Dance Masters of Canada Associate. Ms. Jasmyn’s philosophy encompasses the desire to inspire young artists to becoming well-rounded in the performing arts creating a generation of excelling youth that may enter the professional field as successful dancers, instructors, choreographers and more.

Ms. Jasmyn’s credits include working with the Special Olympics, choreographers from Cirque du Soliel, hosting auditions for back-up dancers, choreographing for music videos and performing in multiple musicals such as Annie, Cinderella, Pirate of the Caribbean and Fiddler on the Roof. Ms. Jasmyn is experienced not only in dance but embodies all areas of the performing arts. Ms. Jasmyn has had extensive training in acting through Carolyn’s Model and Talent agency. She is a recording artist and song-writer under the stage name Reign having received vigorous vocal training from some of Canada’s top vocal coaches including Lorraine Lawson and Micah Barnes. In addition, Ms. Jasmyn has been classically trained in piano through The Royal Conservatory of Music. She has received many first class honour awards and won numerous music competitions.

Ms. Jasmyn’s experience in all aspects of the performing arts industry gives her an edge like no other. She is able to provide a wide variety of knowledge and experience that she shares with each and every student at The Dance Scene, which aids in the development of each student becoming self-driven and successful. Ms. Jasmyn wants to bring out each individual student’s inner strength, poise and personality!






Edz Gyamfi

Edz brings forth a fresh uniqueness and level of creativity to Hip Hop instruction. He focuses on the history, foundations and technique required to establishing a strong hip hop dancer prior to hitting the choreography aspect of the dance style. His unparalleled style of hip hop incorporates traces of jazz, contemporary, salsa and afro dance.

Edz is a three time full dance scholarship recipient at OIP Dance Centre (Toronto). Edz has received vigorous training at OIP (Toronto) and BDC (New York City). In addition, he was recently in The Motivating Excellence- Intensive Program series with world renowned choreographer Rhapsody James. Edz has worked with some of the most renowned hip hop choreographers and performers in the Canadian Music scene including Danny Davalos, Latoya Robinson and Esie Mensah.

Edz has over six years of experience in teaching as well as experience in various competitions as choreographer and judge; such as, O.U.C.H Ontario Universities Competition for Hip Hop (Toronto), Dance Wars (Ottawa), Jack of all Styles (Ottawa) and Dancehall King Ottawa. Additional work credits include: Mia Martina, Waka Flocka, Massari, We Day Commercial, Much Music Video Awards 2015 and Blake Mcgrath.

Edz is always looking to branch out and share his love of dance with anyone who seeks to learn and grow. He aims to inspire TDS dancers to embrace their individuality and creativity!




Stephanie Dodson

Dance has been a part of Ms. Stephanie’s life for 25 years, she started dancing at the age of six and this will be her seventeenth year teaching dance. Ms. Stephanie grew up studying and teaching the BATD syllabus in tap and jazz, the CDTA syllabus in ballet and was recently introduced to the ADAPT syllabus in tap and jazz, as well. She has always received the highest achievement in all dance examinations.

Ms. Stephanie has won numerous medals, trophies, scholarships, and special awards, both as a dancer and teacher. Her choreography has received top choreography awards at various competitions. Ms. Stephanie qualified for the World Dance Championships with tap dancing, held in Germany. As much as she loves the creative part of dance, she is first and foremost a teacher that concentrates on developing strong technique in her dancers. Ms. Stephanie is experienced in teaching all ages and levels in tap, jazz, musical theatre, open, lyrical, ballet, kinder dance and hip-hop and with tap being her personal specialty.

Teaching is such an integral part of Ms. Stephanie’s personal philosophy which is shown by her achievement in receiving a Bachelor of Education degree at Lakehead University and her status as an Ontario Certified Teacher.




Jessica Saunders

Ms. Jessica Saunders is an accomplished choreographer and teacher. She has trained in all areas of dance; Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Hip-hop, Contemporary, Musical Theatre, Acro and more. Ms. Jessica is a highly skilled dancer, singer and actress. She received training from many reputable establishments over the years, however; Step with Style, Vlad’s Dance Company and O.I.P dance were the institutions that were the foundation for her career.

Ms. Jessica has had opportunities to learn from some of the top artists in the world, including instructors such as: Mandy Moore, Stephen “tWitch” Boss, Brandon Bryant, Caroline Torti, Carol Forrest, Stephen Greig, Blake McGrath, Theresa Howard, Danny Lawn, Danny Davalos and Hani Abaza. Ms. Jessica is a well-known performer and has been personally requested by various choreographers in the GTA for their performances. Some of her credits include: Bridge to Artists “senses”- Vlad’s Dance Company, Mandia’s music video “One Last Time” and “Not Gonna Love Me”, Aleesia’s music video “Time’s Up”, J-Diggz’s music video “Juspushit”, backup dancer for Aleesia’s New Year’s Eve performance, various choreography reels, and multiple live performances for promotional events and corporate functions.

Ms. Jessica confidently brings creativity and strong technique into the studio classroom. Her students flourish on stage; many of which have received overall awards within the competitive season. These results are due to the excellent leadership and preparation in her classes. Ms. Jessica’s experience, along with her incredible training has made her an excellent instructor/choreographer for young aspiring dancers and her students continue to improve and thrive under her guidance. She now hopes that all the children she has had the pleasure of teaching will love dance as much as she does.



Isabella Rapino

Ms. Isabella Rapino is a strong believer in the concept that a nourishing environment is a thriving environment. It is around positivity and encouragement that her students are motivated to work. Ms. Isabella’s goal is to guide her students to discover their true potential both technically and skill wise in a positive and healthy environment.

From classical to hip hop to all the in between, Ms. Isabella has experience in various styles of dance. She has been recognized on multiple levels – from being chosen by Dance Ontario as their 2015 Jacque Foesier Youth Dance Award recipient, to landing in the top 20 for the B.A.T.D. Trixie Hardy National Dance Scholarships in both Tap and Jazz, to being awarded scholarships for international competitions and conventions. Additionally, as a competitive choreographer of two seasons, Ms. Isabella’s work has been recognized with numerous choreography awards and overall standings.

Despite her success across various disciplines of dance, Ms. Isabella’s passion lies in the foundation of it all – ballet. Following her career as a competitive dancer at the Ireland Academy of Dance, Ms. Isabella enrolled and graduated with distinction from the professional training program of the Quinte Ballet School of Canada. Ms. Isabella is now expanding her knowledge in dance at the International Dance Program of Canada, meanwhile sharing her passion with the next generation.
